Thomas Stewart for South Carolina House of Representatives, District 10
2026 Platform
Combatting MAGA
My top priorities are: combatting the MAGA's attempts to restrict the freedom of speech, right to vote, the right to bear arms, and to defend the rights of LGBTQ+ South Carolinians.
With MAGA begin producing gerrymandered congressional maps, protecting against this kind of election rigging has become a front and center issue. If elected, I will refuse any attempts to gerrymander South Carolina worse than what it already is, and will actively fight to make our elections freer and fairer.
Voting rights have once again become a contentious issue. No citizen should have to worry about having their right to vote restricted or refused at the ballot box. If elected I will fight against any attempts to restrict voting from our LGBTQ+ or other marginalized South Carolinians.
Dignified Recovery
Homelessness is an ever-growing issue in South Carolina, with minimal action taken to curb and reverse its spread. If elected, I intend on trying to pass legislation to ensure our worst off are able to get off the streets, back in homes, and employed again.
Our prison system does not rehabilitate, it punishes and cements people into lives of crime. Punishing desparation ensures those who struggle can never become functioning members of society. If elected I intend to push for state-level prison reforms to focus on the reformation and return to society of first time offenders of non-violent crimes.
Fighting Corporate Abuse
The right to repair is something many of us feel we do not have, and something we desperately need. If elected, I will push for a law to be passed that requires products sold within South Carolina to be repairable at home, or at third party locations, as well as restricting the use of proprietary products.
Our minimum wage is $7.25 an hour, $2.13 for tipped employees. It is appalling that the best state in the nation pays its workers below the national poverty line. If elected I will push for a minimum wage that can be lived off. If we pay fair, we live fair.
Keep South Carolina Beautiful
Our roads are a mark of shame on our state. With a 1.8 billion dollar surplus last year, it is appalling that our infrastructure is in the state it is. If elected, I will push for legislation that will mandate that more is sent to our cities and counties for road maintenance.
South Carolina is growing fast, more people, more businesses, more infrastructre to maintain our growth. If elected I will fight to preserve our nautral beauty in the face of this unprecedented growth, our forests, mountains, swamps, and beaches can not be sacrificed for growth.
